Waar Marvel met verscheidene films langzaamaan bouwde richting een apotheose met The Avengers heeft DC Comics de zaken nogal anders aangepakt waardoor deze Aquaman uit werd gebracht NA de Justice League film waar we Jason Momoa reeds voorbij zagen komen. Waar Justice League spijtig genoeg een complete mislukking was, is deze Aquaman dat niet. Net zoals bij Wonder Woman is het verhaal allesbehalve origineel, en lijkt het alsof we alles al wel een beetje eerder gezien hebben, maar de uitvoering is net goed genoeg om je er toch mee te amuseren en het feit dat de film zichzelf niet al te serieus neemt helpt daar ook al bij. Zeker geen topper, maar als je wat hersenloos superheldenvermaak wil zijn er slechtere opties
