Een sullige student knapt een Plymouth Fury uit 1958 op. Achter het stuur van deze klassieker verandert zijn pas verworven vertrouwen in razende arrogantie

Onze opinie:
Arnie Cunningham, de vriend van high school American Football ster Dennis Guilder, is de lokale nerd van de middelbare school. Op een dag komen de twee een rood-witte Plymouth tegen die nog het best omschreven kan worden als “klaar voor de sloop” maar Arnie wordt per direct verliefd op de auto en besluit deze te kopen. Hij gaat ermee naar een werkplaats waar hij de auto compleet restaureert en na enige tijd is Christine – de auto – zo goed als nieuw. Wanneer Arnie enige tijd later een relatie krijgt met Leigh, een nieuwe studente, wordt het echter duidelijk dat er iets vreemds aan de hand is met de auto…

Christine is gebaseerd op het boek van Stephen King en ook al is de film redelijk verouderd, als je dit genre wel kan appreciëren is deze film van John Carpenter zeker niet te versmaden.

He brings the car to a repair shop of the despicable Will Darnell and works hard to restore the classic car. While he works in the restoration, he changes his personality to a cocky teenager and he dates the most beautiful girl in the high-school, Leigh Cabot.
