Onze opinie:
Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, Ron Perlman, Jonah Hill, Cate Blanchett, … de lijst met bekende namen in Netflix’ sci-fi satire Don’t Look Up is zonder twijfel impressionant, spijtig genoeg kunnen we dat niet zeggen van de film zelf. Vervang in het verhaal de komeet door “klimaatopwarming” en je merkt maar al te goed het linkse opgeheven vingertje van woke Hollywood dat geen inspanning van de Westerse wereld genoeg vindt. Op zich zouden we dat zelfs niet zo erg vinden mocht er effectief nog wat te lachen vallen, maar ook dat valt tegen. Echte grappen zijn ver te zoeken (een generaal die mensen geld aftroggelt voor gratis snacks in het Witte Huis – ha ha, wat een grap…) en blijkbaar moeten we het waanzinnig lachwekkend vinden dat niemand problemen mag zeggen zoals ze zijn want dat zou wel eens te confronterend opgenomen kunnen worden. En dat meer dan 2 uur? Nee, dank u!
