Onze opinie:
Guy Ritchie, man van klassiekers als Snatch en Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is de laatste jaren een beetje op de dool met films die er niet echt meer in slagen boven de middelmaat uit te steken, en soms zelfs gewoonweg benedenmaats te noemen zijn. Met King Arthur: Legend of the Sword probeert hij het aloude bekende verhaal in een nieuw en ietwat alternatief kleedje te stoppen met Sons of Anarchy ster Charlie Hunnam in de hoofdrol. Het resultaat? Een onderhoudende maar niet echt diepgaande film die ondanks dat het verhaal afwijkt van het origineel niet echt weet te verrassen en alle te verwachte paden betreedt. Weinig originaliteit en onverwachte wendingen dus, maar als je op zoek bent naar wat hersenloos vertier dan kan je deze waarschijnlijk wel smaken.
