Onze opinie:
Met Bruce Willis, Henry Cavill en Sigourney Weaver in de hoofdrollen mag je je toch wel verwachten aan een spectaculaire actiefilm. Althans, dat denk je toch. Niets is echter wat het lijkt want The Cold Light of Day is zo standaard als maar kan zijn. Willis komt voorbij maar is even snel weer verdwenen en hij is duidelijk ingehuurd om wat extra (dood) gewicht te geven aan de film, Weaver acteert op automatische piloot, en Cavill is net zoals het verhaal compleet ongeloofwaardig. Dan hoop je dat de regisseur er toch wat van probeert te maken, maar Mabrouk El Mechri (JCVD) durfde het blijkbaar niet aan om ook maar een sprankeltje originaliteit ten berde te brengen waardoor TCLOD na een redelijk goede opzet (ook al lijkt deze rechtstreeks van Spy Kids te komen) in recordtempo afzakt tot onder de middelmaat.

Zelfs met het verstand op nul moet je moeite doen om geïnteresseerd te blijven kijken.
