In een wereld waar niemand liegt wordt een filmschrijver beroemd en rijk – en krijgt hij wellicht het meisje van zijn dromen – door dingen te zeggen die niet waar zijn

Onze opinie:
Niemand die liegt en iedereen die constant hardop zegt wat ze denken? Op zich een interessant concept, maar ondanks een ton aan bekende gezichten die voorbij komen (Jennifer Garner, Louis C.K., Jonah Hill, Rob Lowe, …) werkt het niet. Dat het verhaal nogal traag vooruit gaat zijn we al wel gewend bij Ricky Gervais (The Office, Extras) maar dat de grappen en grollen nogal laag bij de grond zijn helpt ook al niet. Het is allemaal nogal voorspelbaar, en sommige zaken zijn té letterlijk uitgewerkt om geloofwaardig over te komen, laat staan grappig te zijn. Net zoals Adam Sandler lijkt Gervais’ houdbaarheidsdatum verlopen.
